In 1987, DDP embarked on an ambitious plan to develop a computerized information system for providing school districts with updated enrollment projections and complete facility implementation plans. With the use of state-of-the-art computer mapping technology, DDP developed the first school district Geographic Information System (SchoolSiteTM). Today this award-winning software is utilized for projects as diverse as future site locating studies, attendance boundary analysis, election demographics and school district trustee area studies. The next generation of our software has been web-enabled as SchoolSite Online in order to make planning and demographic information more accessible and affordable. The decision by DDP to develop its own geographic information system (GIS) applications is the result of our commitment to address the complex long-range demographic issues facing many school districts today. It has also earned the firm the prestigious honor of being named ESRI Business Partner of the Year for 2005 and again in 2010.
