Centralia Elementary School District - Enrollment Projections and School Closure
Buena Park, California - Feeling the budget crunch as many school districts around the country are Centralia Elementary School District found themselves having to make some tough decisions and needed accurate information to make the correct one. They found that it was necessary to close one of their schools. DDP began by preparing seven-year enrollment projections to identify areas of growth or decline. These projections were then used to prepare several boundary scenarios to close a school and redistribute the students to other schools. DDP then assisted the district in facilitating the boundary committee and public meetings. As well DDP provided SchoolSite Locator for staff and parent notification of new school assignments for the upcoming year.
Davis Joint Unified School District - Enrollment Projections, Boundary Changes and SchoolSite Locator
Davis, California - Davis Joint Unified School District contracted with DDP to update their seven-year enrollment projections and to assist the district in the changes of their elementary attendance boundaries. The District has experienced three straight years of decline and brought DDP on board to assist them in determining which facility should be closed. DDP prepared enrollment projections, redistricting scenarios and various analyses to determine which school to be closed. Since then DDP has provided projection updates, walk distance analysis and mapping. The district also implemented DDP's latest web software, SchoolSite Locator, to help parents in the community locate which school their child should attend.
Keppel Union School District - Enrollment Projections and Master Plan Study
Pearblossom, California - DDP has been working with the Keppel Union School District to assist them with their Master Plan Study in conjunction with HMC Architects. Overall, DDP is providing essential data to help the District make important decisions such as grade reconfiguration and total sites needed at “build-out.” The study explores the impact that demographic changes will have upon its existing schools over the next ten years as well as allowing Keppel School District to plan for the total number of sites required if current trends and zoning continue.
Milwaukee Public Schools
Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Milwaukee Public Schools is the largest school district in the state with an enrollment of nearly 90,000 students. It is the 31st largest in the United States by enrollment and has 198 schools. The District is currently dealing with demographic changes and has contracted with DDP to assemble data for use with the SchoolSite Planning Suite to create in house enrollment projections and deal with boundary changes as needed. The District also has signed up to use SchoolSite Locator to aid district staff and the community in locating their school of attendance.
