Davis Demographics and Planning has over 20 years of GIS software experience and 15 years in software training. There are two options for training in the use of ESRI's ArcGIS and DDP's SchoolSite planning software extensions: training at the District's site or training at DDP's facility in Riverside, California. Each has their advantages but whichever you choose, you can be assured to receive the skills you need to be successful.
- DDP will send an authorized instructor to the District’s location for training. The instructor will have a laptop computer as well as an LCD projector. The District will provide adequate facilities and computers for those being trained. Training will be provided using local District data (if available) or typical school district sample data provided by DDP. Training is available at a per day training fee for up to four District staff members. Per diem travel costs as well as reimbursable airfare is additional.
- Typical training in the use of ArcGIS and SchoolSite covers five days. The daily schedule is as follows: • ArcGIS (ArcEditor) - 3 days (Monday through Wednesday)
• SchoolSite Redistricting – ½ day (Wednesday or Thursday)
• SchoolSite Projections – 2 days (Thursday and Friday) - DDP requests a minimum 21 day advance notice for reserving training time at the District’s site.
Training Requirements
- Training is in our classroom and includes no more than eight students (may include other Districts). Training is accomplished using typical sample school district data. The training schedule noted above is followed during the week-long class. Training is available at a daily per person rate. Cancellations by the District within three weeks are subject to a small administrative fee. Why train at DDP's location?
